Revolution Barbecue Texas Style Brisket
As we all know, Texans take their barbecue seriously, and one of the most iconic dishes in Texas barbecue is the beef brisket. A true Texas-style brisket is all about the meat and the rub. Unlike other styles of barbecue, traditional Texas-style brisket is typically seasoned with a simple salt and pepper-based rub, allowing the flavor of the meat to shine through.
In this recipe, we’re putting a twist on the traditional Texas-style brisket by using the flavorful Revolution Barbecue Texas Beef BBQ Rub. This rub includes a blend of flake sea salt, black pepper, granulated garlic, granulated onion, red and green bell peppers, and paprika, providing the perfect balance of flavor and heat to enhance the natural flavors of the beef.
One of the keys to a great brisket is the bark, which is the flavorful, crusty exterior that forms during the cooking process. Wrapping the brisket in butcher paper helps to protect the bark and allows it to develop a beautiful texture and flavor. Not to mention, it also helps to keep the meat moist during the long cooking process.
So, fire up your smoker, get your Revolution Barbecue Texas Beef BBQ Rub ready, and let’s make a mouthwatering traditional smoked Texas beef brisket that’s sure to impress your family and friends!
Equipment
- Butcher paper
- Oak or Hickory Wood

- Smoke the brisket for 4-6 hours or until the internal temperature reaches around 170°F. Remove the brisket from the smoker and wrap it tightly in butcher paper.
- Return the brisket to the smoker and continue to smoke until the internal temperature reaches 200-205°F, which should take an additional 4-6 hours.
- Once the brisket has reached the desired internal temperature, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for at least 1-2 hours, wrapped in butcher paper, and place it in a dry cooler to keep it warm.
- Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
